“Belt and Road Initiative” Overseas Personnel Insurance Coverage Seminar & China Foreign Aid Medical Teams Insurance Donation Ceremony was Held in Beijing

  On November 28th, the “Belt and Road Initiative” Overseas Personnel Insurance Coverage Seminar & China Foreign Aid Medical Teams Insurance Donation Ceremony was held in Beijing. Over 80 persons, including government officials  from National Health Commission, China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the relevant officials at the Steering Group for the “Belt and Road Initiative”, overseas risk service providers and the “Belt and Road Initiative” risk management experts attended the event and carried out in-depth discussion about the establishment of a “Belt and Road Initiative” insurance support system, risk coverage needs and innovations in insurance products and services.

  During the event, China Life and China Re Life granted group insurance products named after the “Belt and Road Initiative” to aid medical teams sent oversea. The insurance products are at a term of one year with a value of sum assured over RMB100 million  cover life, disability and medical expenses caused by diseases and accidents and overseas emergency rescue services.

  Feng Yong, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Department of the National Health Commission said that foreign aid doctors are of critical importance for the “Belt and Road Initiative”. The program starts with cooperating with local national health commissions and foreign aid medical teams.  In the way ahead, we should , firstly, conduct thorough research into local medical and regulatory system, secondly, utilize both domestic and overseas markets and resources, make good use of the power of government and non-governmental organizations, and thirdly, adopt modern information platforms to provide effective service coverage.
